How long should people date before getting married?

I don't think that there is a prescribed time...at the same time though it should not be too long because this can become too "sticky" and it should not be too short as the individuals may not know enough about each other to get into a life-time partnership.

Remember too, its advisable to marry a true friend... such a friendship would have revealed most of what each partner needs to know of the other to make a concious decision for marriage...hey, takit from me - I've been married for 2 1/2 looonnngggg years

Hmm...... as christians our steps should be ordered by God as His sheep we should know and listen to his voice so there is no set time for any one couple it is God's timing so basically whenever God says, and guess what if as a couple you are not hearing from God then maybe u are not ready to get married
